“Clean Metoh” Volunteer Campaign Brings Together Young People and Volunteers for a Common Cause
On September 19, 2026 (Saturday), Asenovgrad Youth Center once again showed that words turn into action – the volunteer environmental initiative “Clean Metoh” brought together enthusiastic young people, volunteers, and the entire Center team, united around a shared cause: to make the Metoh area cleaner and tidier for all residents of Asenovgrad.
The idea for the campaign is part of the Youth Center’s Sports and Environmental Events series and was announced on the organization’s Facebook page, where we extended an open invitation to all citizens of Asenovgrad willing to get involved in caring for their town. The response was not long in coming – alongside the Center’s regular young people, volunteers also joined in, some of them taking part in a Youth Center initiative for the very first time, driven simply by a desire to help.
The meeting point was set in front of the Youth Center building, where participants began gathering around 9:00 AM. After a short wait and a final organization of the teams, the group set off at 9:30 AM toward the Metoh area, with the cleanup campaign officially starting at 10:00 AM.
Armed with gloves, trash bags, and plenty of good spirit, the young people and volunteers spread out across the area and got to work — collecting litter, tidying up the pedestrian zones, and installing new informational signs that will now guide and inform visitors to Metoh.
The initiative became a true example of what a community can achieve when it works together. The young people brought energy and enthusiasm, the volunteers contributed a fresh perspective and a willingness to be useful, and the Youth Center team coordinated efforts on the ground to ensure the campaign ran smoothly and in an organized manner from start to finish.
The result was plain to see – a cleaner, tidier, and more welcoming Metoh area, left in far better condition than we found it that morning.
Asenovgrad Youth Center extends its sincere gratitude to every young person and volunteer who gave their time and energy to this cause. Initiatives like this reveal the true spirit of community – care, responsibility, and a desire for positive change.
The Youth Center’s calendar remains full of initiatives through the end of 2026. The next major event is already approaching – on October 1, 2026, starting at 2:30 PM, Asenovgrad Youth Center will host the Youth Forum-Dialogue “Asenovgrad – A City of Opportunities,” where we aim to bring together young people, business representatives, and institutions for a meeting dedicated to career development and the opportunities available to young people in the city.
