Non-formal Training on “Tolerance” at Vocational High School “St. Patriarch Evtimiy” – Asenovgrad (24 February 2025)
On 24 February 2025, the team of Youth Center – Asenovgrad delivered a non-formal training on tolerance with students at the Vocational High School “St. Patriarch Evtimiy” – Asenovgrad. As part of a brief introductory segment, we presented the Center’s work and opportunities for young people to join upcoming initiatives.
The session featured a brainstorm (associations with the word “tolerance”), discussion of everyday situations, and a role-play task based on verbally presented scenarios. The focus was on respecting differences, distinguishing facts from assumptions, and practicing dialogue without judgment. Students were actively engaged, sharing viewpoints and proposing practical steps for a calmer, more inclusive classroom environment.
We closed with a short reflection (“What am I taking away from today?”) and collected suggestions for future topics (e.g., hate-free language, empathy in conflict). These inputs will inform follow-up meetings designed further to build respectful communication and collaboration skills in the classroom.
